LED flood lights are now being used extensively by law enforcement and other first responder groups for lighting crime scenes, emergency locations and so forth. Their small size, light weight and durability makes them easy to move and deploy, and their brilliant light provides clear, high-contrast visibility. LED floodlights are also used in public places such as sporting areas, parking lots and any other large space where bright light is needed.
New models of LED floodlights are capable of computer-generated flash patterns for emergency signaling. Multiple units can be synchronized for simultaneous flashing. Radio links allow lights to be remotely controlled. LED lights that can change color are beginning to come on the market.
